Hip hop artist and unashamed believer, Legend lives a life focused on praise and creative expression. A husband and proud member of the independent label collective TSWCamp, he hails from Philadelphia and continues to inspire with his faith-driven art. He spoke with Praise Pursuit about how his faith shapes his music and the role of praise in his life.
Q: What inspired you to start making music that reflects your beliefs?
A: I feel we serve the greatest Creator there is, and our lives and art should be reflective of that. God cares and can dwell in every area of how we live—relationships, business, marriage, art, etc. It’s a part of who I am naturally as a creative, and I hope to show God in every way I live. Art is one of the lanes where I definitely want to reflect who He is.
Q: How do you incorporate praise in your daily life?
A: Praise is a lifeline. Choosing gratitude over worry and trusting God’s sovereignty over doubt is always better. Praise can get you through a storm, knowing it won’t last forever, and praise is the most true response after you’ve made it through. God is too good to choose to stay downcast. Praising Him is always better.
