Growing in God: Das The Nomad
“I had to take time to grow and mature in the Lord before I could express myself in a way that would honor Him.”
Das The Nomad is an artist, husband, and father; but most importantly, he is a child of God.
The Ohio-based artist grew up listening to rap and hip hop music with his dad; and became a huge fan of the genre. He started freestyling, but that art was placed on the back burner when he got saved and became a Christian.
“The things I used to rap about I couldn’t say anymore,” the artist revealed. “Those things were no longer a flex because they weren’t a part of my lifestyle anymore.”
Inspired by the Lord, the rapper dove into reading the Bible daily. He sought different ways to study the Bible and memorize Scripture, utilizing journal methods and the YouVersion app. He found a home church and met two men who would be pivotal in his faith journey.
The first man was a 75 year old teacher. With a very mature, strong faith, the teacher discipled Das. The rapper inherited the teacher’s Sunday school class and now Das is discipling others.
The second man (the musician) invited Das to a recording session. “I met Robby Heck Music and he told me I had to hop on his track. I ended up collabing with him on two songs,” explained Das. “He was definitely an inspiration and catalyst to what I’m doing now.”
The rapper has also collaborated with Craig Wallace (Christ Jr). Das released his first single in the fall of 2023. His goal is to honor the Lord with the tools that God gave him.
In his life, family, and art, Das chooses to make himself available to God. “I submit my life to the things God calls me to do and I let Him lead my next steps.”
