‘Tis The Season: Actors Share Christmas Movie Joy
It’s time for candy canes, all things decorated bright, and movie marathons.
Television screens become a festive centerpiece in December as families and friends gather to experience the tradition of sipping hot cocoa and sharing the wonder of talking snowmen, excited elves, and a red sleigh.
There's happiness found in making those beautiful moments with loved ones, some who have traveled far to share this special time. It’s a gift to be together; but there’s a greater Gift in this season that is celebrated: the Good News of Jesus’ Birth.
It’s the perfect time of year to seek movies which reflect the faithful message of the season. Great American Family is an excellent choice with its Great American Christmas lineup: movies filled with faith, love, giving, reconciliation, and community.
Actor Tanya Christiansen, who plays the role of Susanna Gardner in ‘A Little Women’s Christmas,’ shared her insight with the Praise Pursuit.
“Being part of ‘A Little Women’s Christmas’ was a truly special experience that I’ll always cherish,” she said. “Working alongside an ensemble cast of talented Christian women and actors created such an inspiring and uplifting environment, both on and off screen.”
Christiansen said that it was a joy to collaborate with people who shared the same faith and passion for storytelling, making this project unforgettable.
Actor Michaela May of ‘A Cinderella Christmas Ball’ revealed a similar experience: “It was an absolute honour to be a part of ‘A Cinderella Christmas Ball.’ It’s amazing to be involved in a movie that brings people so much joy. I also admire Danica (McKellar) for many reasons, so it was wonderful to get to work so closely with her.”
May shared that it was an absolute blast on set and the entire cast was just wonderful.
“Any booking/role for an actor is a privilege as there are so many talented actors auditioning, so to be chosen to play Duchess Gwendolyn Harrington was such an honour. I loved her character and her spirit,” May told the Praise Pursuit.
“Being a part of this movie was a truly special experience. It makes people happy and there is nothing more that you can ask for,” May added.
The theme of happiness and joy that both Christiansen and May shared in their reflections is a beautiful example of the true meaning of Christmas. When discovering what truly matters, happiness and joy can be found not only on Christmas, but every day.
